How to register your work

 

Do you want to show your film on openArt-
-Japan's largest movie-streaming site?

With the advent of new technologies such as non-linear editing, computer graphics and broadband network, the new style of filmmaking has revealed itself. And the works resulting from this trend is more diverse and more empirical than ever. Now you can join the trend by taking a part in our website and stagger the audience around the world with your work.

By showing your work on our website, you can get comments from the world audience and the critics, put a link to your homepage, and make a network with other filmmakers. The new world of communication will come alive with openArt.

Submission to film festivals

openArt helps promote the works on its site by recommending the outstanding works to film festivals inside and outside Japan.

Promtions on TV and magazines

Several of films on openArt have been introduced in the media such as TV and magazines. We always try hard to expose the works of our artists into the public.

How to register your work

It's easy

Just send us your work(VHS. mini DV, e.t.c.) with the Artist Registration Form and the Work Registration Form. ( see below for details)

It's free

There is no registration fee or fee for the presentation of your work. You can spare your bucks for budget of your work. (You will need to pay for the shipping fee.)

Please send us your work with the Artist Registration Form and the Work Registration Form to the address below. Put the title and your name on the package of your work.
Note: You cannot register by e-mail.

Medium of the work

One of the 3 below

1:Digital movie file (QuickTime, avi, RealMovie).

The file must be in 〜640MO, or CD-ROM, or DVD-R(Windows, Macintosh Format).
It is better no compress the movie file(we recommend QuickTime format.) And please write way of codec ditailed. We can not translate DVX codec.

2:Tape media(VHS, miniDV, Beta camSP, all in NTSC format is better)

It is better NTSC. You have to define that, if it's PAL or SECAM tapes. Please note that encoding for streaming will make the image less clear than the original.

3:Flash Animation It must include an html file. Fonts must be outlined.

Presentation of the Work

*The work will be shown all the time on "openArt" website.
*We are unable to tell the time of the start of presentation of the submitted work.
*Although we have a policy of showing all of the submitted films, there are cases in which Gauguins rejcts the presentation of films without explanation.
*All the works on the website are subject to the termination of presentation without prior notice and without explanation from Gauguins.

Fromat of Presentation

RealPlayer or QuickTime. Please understand that there may be some decrease in image quality and skipping frames during the streaming.

Rights

The copyrights for the submitted work belong to the filmmakers. However, the exhibition rights on the internet and rights for exhibition for the purpose of the promotion of opeaArt website belong to Gauguins.

Troubles over the Work

Gauguins and openArt will not take any responsibilitiy for the troubles occuring from the registerd work or informtaion. Please make sure to clear all the rights matters to avoid the infringement of copyrights.

Notice

openArt will not process copyrights for the music used in the submitted work. If the work contains music which is not original, make sure to obtain the permission for the use of the music before submitting the work. Once the permission for use is granted, make sure to put the credits for the music in the Work Registration Form. We may be unable to present the film without the credits on the Work Registration Form. Please note that these regulations are subject to change anytime without prior notice.
